How thick should a concrete driveway be?
A driveway carrying regular vehicle traffic needs to be thicker than a sidewalk or patio slab. If a contractor is quoting the same thickness for a driveway as a walkway, ask why.
Do you use rebar or wire mesh?
Depends on the driveway's size and what it's carrying. We'll tell you what we're using and why for your specific job before we pour, not after.
How long before I can drive on it?
Concrete needs time to gain strength before it can take vehicle weight, even though it looks finished within a day. We'll give you a specific timeline for foot traffic and for vehicles before we leave the site.
Why do driveways crack, and can it be prevented?
Most cracking comes from a poor base, no control joints, water sitting under the slab, or driving on it too soon. Proper base prep, correct slope, and joints cut in the right spots control where and whether it cracks.
Can you fix a driveway instead of replacing it?
Sometimes. If the base underneath is still solid and the damage is surface-level cracking or settling, repair or resurfacing can make sense. If the base has failed, replacement is the honest answer, and we'll tell you which one you're dealing with.
Do you remove and haul off the old driveway?

Will my new driveway need a permit?
